Watch How It's Done

How do I start?

Patient is sitting or standing. Examiner stabilizes the scapula.

What happens?

The examiner passively and forcibly **flexes the patient's arm forward** between 70° and 120° while maintaining **internal rotation**.

In Plain English

What Does a Positive Result Mean?

The reproduction of the patient's **shoulder pain** during the passive movement, indicating mechanical impingement.

Helpful Tip:

This test has high sensitivity, so a negative result is useful for ruling out impingement.
