How do I start?

Patient is side-lying.

What happens?

The examiner applies a firm, sustained **downward force** through the superior ilium (pushing the iliac crest medially and inward) to compress the SI joint.

Reproduction of the patient's **posterior SI joint pain**.

Helpful Tip:

This maneuver is less sensitive than gapping but can be useful in a cluster of SI joint provocation tests.
